Defining Beautiful !!

BEAUTY -

Sometimes I wonder, as to what do we mean when we say that it/she/he is beautiful !! Can beauty be really defined .. The definition of beauty is different for different people, as an age old saying goes "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder". So the question is - Is there nothing that can be defined as universally beautiful ?

Let's start the discussion by defining the term "Beauty" itself. Beauty is defined as a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight or a combination of qualities that pleases the intellect or moral sense. So, I started looking out for stuff that might look beautiful to most of the people - if not all of the people.

I found out that there are certain things that are assumed to be beautiful by most people and the best thing is that most of these things are a part of the Nature itself. People find flowers, snow covered mountains, small children etc. as beautiful and this is a common emotion shared across people across countries. Hence, we come down to another question - Why only wonders of the nature are perceived as beautiful by a larger section of people even though there are numerous creations of humans that are beautiful as well?

An architect might like a building and think that it is beautiful but this emotion might not be common. Then, what is the reason for that ? A simple answer to that can be that the architect doesn't understand the tastes of the various people and hence cannot come out with a universally acclaimed "beautiful" building but then how does nature come out with creations that look beautiful to all or is our mind pre-formatted to find most natural things as beautiful and may be that is one of the reasons why a lot of our creations are inspired by the mother nature.

These are some random thoughts that were going across my head, so just thought of pinning them down. Hope you like the pics at-least if not the content !!!

Keep Smiling !!!
